G.R.E.A.T.
G.R.E.A.T. (Gang Resistance Education and Training) is another program instructed in our local schools by DCSO Youth Services Officers. Taught at the middle school level, this program teaches students skills to avoid gang affiliation and activity. The 13 week program identifies the negative consequences of gang involvement. It teaches youths to set goals for themselves, learn conflict management, and resist gang peer pressure by seeking out and participating in positive activities. |

Fighting Chance The Fighting Chance program is another program instructed in our local schools by DCSO Youth Services Officers. Taught at the Elementary School level (5th and 6th grade), this program teaches children to avoid danger, and to proactively resist and fight back if ever abducted. Just as our kids practice sports, music lessons or ballet, they need to practice this.
