The Patrol Division is responsible for responding to crimes, public service concerns, and preventive patrol and crime suppression. The efficiency and effectiveness of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Patrol Division is the direct result of our continued partnership and cooperative association between officers and the citizens of our community.

Patrol Division personnel participate in a wide variety of special assignments that enhance the quality of life in our community while providing security for all.  These special assignments include: Traffic Enforcement, Accident Investigation, Bicycle Patrol, Boat Patrol, Coroner Duties, Crisis Negotiation Team, Special Weapons and Tactics Team, Bomb Squad, School Resource Officer, K-9 Program, Honor Guard, and TRIAD (a joint-agency senior citizen program).

Patrol Division personnel operate with a Community Oriented Policing philosophy to identify, address and correct problems or issues that involve criminal or suspicious activity, and the overall “quality of life” in Douglas County.
