The Douglas County Sheriff’s Advisory Council is a non-profit service organization founded to raise funds for extraordinary expenses of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.
The funds raised go towards the education and training needs of personnel, as well as technological resources and equipment required by the Sheriff’s Office.
Since its inception in 2004, the Advisory Council has raised slightly over $400,000 in private funding.
The Advisory Council has provided the Sheriff's Office specialized equipment such as a child identification/fingerprinting system, infrared tracking equipment, officer bulletproof vests, crisis negotiation team vehicle and equipment, patrol bicycles, a range training robot, and most recently – Mobile Computer Terminals (MCT’s) for twenty vehicles assigned to the patrol division. This key dispatch and communications system is vital to the efficiency of dispatch and the effectiveness of patrol division deputies to perform their duties.
The Advisory Council is raising funds for a number of other projects. Anyone wishing to contribute to the Advisory Council may mail their donation to Douglas County Sheriff’s Advisory Council, PO Box 1002, Minden, NV 89423.
