CIVIL DIVISION

The Civil Division provides security and bailiff duties for the tow district courts and two justice courts in Douglas County. The civil deputies also serve legal paperwork within Douglas County.

UPDATE:  As of October 1, 2011 Assembly Bill No. 223
    AN ACT relating to civil actions;providing that a certain amount of money held in a personal bank account that is likely to be exempt from execution is not subject to a writ of execution or garnishment except in circumstances; providing a procedure to execute on property held in a safe-deposit box; revising the procedure for claiming an exemption from execution on certain property; making various other changes to provisions governing writs of execution, attachment and garnishment; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.
